BRAND: OSCAR MAYER OBJECTIVE: TO PROMOTE THE BRAND AND PERSONALITY OF OSCAR MAYER THROUGH CUSTOMER IMMERSION and PARTICIPATION SOLUTION:CREATE A CUSTOM CAR TO DRIVE AROUND VARIOUS MARKETS AND EVENTS TO BUILD HYPE, INFUSE FUN AND SPIRIT INTO THE BRAND OF OSCAR MAYER (sounds like a creative brief from Toast & Jam, but was something happening long before we came into this world).
The “Wienermobile” is an automobile shaped like a hot dog on a bun that is used to promote and advertise Oscar Mayer products. It was created in 1936 by Oscar’s nephew, Carl G. Mayer, and variants are still used by Oscar Mayer today. In 2004, Oscar Mayer announced a contest whereby customers could win the right to use the Wienermobile for a day. Within a month, the contest had generated over 15,000 entries.
Drivers of the Wienermobiles are known as Hotdoggers and often hand out toy whistles shaped as replicas of the Wienermobile, known as Wienerwhistles.
So I know that I have had a few posts with acts from America’s Got Talent. But I can’t help it! I love the show and some of these acts are noteworthy. Here is another one.
Diego Stocco is known for making musical pieces using samples of natural sounds. Here is a short video he shot using only a Bonsai tree. Besides playing the leaves, he used bows of different sizes, a piano hammer and a paintbrush.
One balloon and a couple of evenings after work — Dyson engineers show how inducement and entrainment works on the Air MultiplierTM fan. If you watch closely, the balloon is sucked into the airflow from behind and to the side of the fan; this is inducement and entrainment of the air.
So this is the second performance by Fighting Gravity on America’s Got Talent. These guys are going to win it all, and they deserve it. The intro is definitely a little long but it’s well worth it. Click here to see their first audition.
Brilliant personality selection and brand activation. Get Gary Numan and a few dozen cars, one battery and prove a point. All while visually entertaining and putting DieHard Batteries into our subconscious. Done.
(Boing Boing recently posted this but I had to give it props for the once-over.)
